Fiber Technician

A fiber technician plays an integral role in the telecommunication industry – keeping us connected through telephone, high-speed internet, and television. They install and maintain fiber optic cables, as well as provide technical assistance in the designing and testing of fiber optics.
A successful fiber technician is not only comfortable with installation and other technical aspects of the job, they are also able to troubleshoot and utilize their professional knowledge to make decisions confidently. They are proficient in their understanding of the various electronic components and computer operating systems involved.
We are currently looking for entry level employees to be brought on as Fiber Technicians. Our employees are cross trained to become National Infrastructure Technicians.

  • Trains you for skilled labor positions in civil work, heavy machinery, wiring and fiber terminations, site development, and technical installations.
  • Sample Salary Ranges and Career Pathing for National Infrastructure Technician Career (an average career timeframe from entry-level start date):
  • Technician I/II: $18-$20 per hour (0-18 months)
  • Team Lead: $20-$22 per hour (18-36 months)
  • Foreman/Supervisor: $23-$28 per hour (2+ years)
  • Construction Manager: $65K-$85K plus bonus (5+years)
  • Program Manager or Operations Director: $80K-$120K plus bonus (7+ years)

Baseline Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in teams, with your hands, machinery, and ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to travel during the week (As needed) and work indoors as well as outdoors
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to pass both a background check and drug test
  • Strength to push, pull and lift material weighing up to fifty pounds
